Welcome to a small Boer goat operation located approximately 1 hour southwest of Wheeling, WV in the rolling hills of Monroe County, Ohio.  My goal is to raise animals in as natural setting as possible. You won’t find fat pampered animals here, but hardy individuals who can produce results in the ring as well as in the pasture.

The herd consists of Registered full bloods. My does represent some of the best bloodlines available. I have chosen to produce Quality over Quantity. My herd is small but my show results in the local fairs speak for the success of my operational focus.

The demand for goat meat in the United States is increasing but so are production costs, ie. fuel & feed. To be successful each producer must build a herd with stock that is hardy, kids easily, obtains high weight gain and shows uniform carcass yields.  Full blooded quality Boers offer all these attributes. Along with my father, Robert Hull in Buckhannon, WV, we are working to offer these animals to both states. So whether your need is breeding stock or 4H wethers, our animals will work for you.

As any successful farmer knows in today’s changing economy to be successful one must diversify.  I have added a small flock of purebred Dorper sheep to help with this.  The Dorper is the “boer goat of the sheep world” and I hope with this addition as well as the orchard, garden produce, and free range chickens to make the farm a successful and sustainable operation.

Also SLD Farm serves as a second chance for neglected & abused animals. Horses, goats, dogs, cats & ferrets have all found a safe haven here while they await their forever home.
